Our college centre in Broadford is close to open water for kayaking, the Cuillins for mountaineering, great terrain for mountain biking and has ready access to forests, croft land and estates, making it the perfect base for the Certificate in Outdoor Adventure and the Certificate in Crofting and Countryside Skills .

These courses offer you the opportunity to develop your practical skills and understanding in a world class environment. You will benefit from working with sector leading practitioners and with organisations such as the John Muir Trust and you will gain the relevant qualifications required to progress on to further study or sector-related employment.

We also offer the following networked courses using video conferencing and our virtual learning environment which allows students in different locations to come together as a 'virtual' class with their lecturer:

Our part-time and open learning courses offer you the opportunity to develop your personal skills and knowledge in a number of areas and are a good introduction for anyone returning to education or wishing to gain the relevant qualifications for work and further study.

Broadford is one of two college centre's at West Highland College UHI which offers the SQA Higher Photography on a part-time basis and the course has been very popular since its introduction in 2015.

Attendance on part-time courses varies from one day a week to 3 hours an evening, with some courses offering flexible start dates and flexible study patterns. Some of the courses are taught face-to-face in Broadford and others involve self-study. Please contact us or call in to the centre to find out more.

Business, Enterprise, Solutions and Training

We run a programme of short courses throughout the year to support local business and communities and to offer people living locally the opportunity to develop new interests and skills. These include Emergency First Aid, Beginners Spanish, IOSH Working Safely, Personal Licence Holder and Food Hygiene.
