Carl Haberl

Carl-Haberl.jpgCarl is the Outdoor Practical Coordinator in the School of Adventure Studies. He oversees all the organisation and safety of the School and ensures that all of the students receive high quality outdoor activity instruction to enrich their studies whilst at the college.

Carl has been working in the Outdoor activity sector for 30 years. He worked as senior Instructor at Plas y Brenin National Outdoor Centre in North Wales for eight years and also Glenmore Lodge National Outdoor centre in Aviemore for ten years. He has trained, assessed and coached outdoor practitioners at national level in several outdoor disciplines and has more recently been working in the Further and Higher education sectors as a lecturer, mentor and manager.

Carl also runs a small company offering a technical advice service to the outdoor sector. He is currently the Technical Safety Advisor to Girlguiding UK, one of the largest outdoor providers in the UK.

Carl lives in Banavie and enjoys heading out to the west coast with his wife and young son whenever the opportunity arises to go sailing and snorkelling.
