This level 2 SVQ is designed for anyone in full time employment, who is involved in any aspects of reception or front office.
The majority of the evidence for the qualification will be provided through visual observations carried out in the workplace. The candidates will also have to show that they have appropriate knowledge and understanding of their job.
You must be in year round full time employment and working in a reception environment.
The qualification consists of 10 units, 3 of which are mandatory and the other 7 are selected by the individual candidates. It has specialist units relevant to all aspects of reception, including
This course is completed in the work place. You may have to attend various 1 day workshops including health and safety, customer care and food hygiene.
We provide you an evidence portfolio and all the documentation required to help you complete the qualification. We also provide you with a textbook and access to a variety of different resources.
The SVQ in Front of House Reception can start at any time and it takes places in your current work place.
Funding availability changes each year. Funding can be available from Skills Development Scotland.

This qualification could help the candidate progress into a role with more responsibility. They may also be able to progress onto the Hospitality Supervision and Leadership Level 3 SVQ.
