Make-up Skills NPA

What is special about this course?

Master the art of different make-up applications and techniques across a range of looks with this NPA in Make Up Skills evening course in Portree and Fort William.

Whether you're looking to brush up your existing skills or take the first step to a new career in beauty, this qualification will help develop your understanding and basic expertise in make-up skills. With an emphasis on practical, hands-on learning, you'll be taught skills needed in a realistic work environment. You'll also create looks from contemporary to classic bridal so some self study is required. 

As this course is held weekly in the evening it provides an excellent chance to learn new skills while still working in full or part-time employment. 


Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course.

Unit contents:

  • Contemporary make-up
  • Day make-up and basic corrective make-up
  • Bridal and evening make-up

One evening a week with some self study/practice expected at home each week.

What can I do on completion of my course?

Progression from this could be to our full time NC Beauty Care available at UHI West Highland.  It is also possible to progress to an SVQ in Hairdressing or Beauty Therapy available within UHI.
