Practical Science NPA

What is special about this course?

Brand new part time NPA in Practical Science available to study in any of our college centres*.

This course will develop your understanding and basic skills in the areas of science. The qualification structure has been devised so that you will receive a broad education in scientific skills across all three disciplines. The emphasis of the award is to develop basic skills with the focus on practical activities which will be carried out in a realistic work environment. Some self-study is required.

*You will be required to attend one Saturday session of practical forensic science in either Fort William or Portree during the course.

This course can be studied in any of our college centres but you will be required to attend one Saturday session of practical forensic science in either Fort William or Portree during the course.

Most students have their course fees paid as this is a full time course. Please contact your local college learning centre or Student Services for more information.

Some of our courses require students to have essential equipment/clothing.

If you are 18 and over and are eligible for a bursary, these costs will be met through your bursary. If you are not eligible for a bursary, you will need to fund these items yourself.

If you are under 18, you are entitled to have essential equipment paid for whether you are entitled to EMA or not. However you must apply for EMA even if you know that you’re not entitled to EMA.
