Professional Cookery Skills NPA
What is special about this course?
Do you enjoy cooking and would like to increase your skills? Or are you already working in the industry but want to start a career in Professional Cookery? This could be the ideal way to get started.
You will tackle new and challenging techniques and recipes to help you broaden your knowledge and understand the value of fresh and dry ingredients.
You will investigate the importance of healthy eating and food hygiene and the roles they play in commercial kitchens.
Entry requirements
A commitment to improving your cookery and hospitality skills. Ideally you will have done a basic cookery qualification at SCQF level 3 or equivalent.
You will cover 5 units:
• Cookery Processes
• Food Hygiene
• Food Preparation for Healthy Eating
• Craft Baking
• Food Preparation Techniques

What can I do on completion of my course?
You could consider Professional Cookery Skills at level 5 or our full time NC Professional Cookery in Fort William. Alternatively you could take your new skills straight in to employment.
