Marine Engineering Science NQ Level 5
What is special about this course?
The course is designed to allow you to enter the maritime industry, move on to do maritime cadetships or modern apprenticeships. Your studies will be mainly via night classes and online study. The content of this course will aid you in entering several different subsectors within the maritime industry, progressing your career and opening promotion possibilities.
Entry requirements
Students must have studied and achieved Nat 4 Maths and achieved at least Nat 4 Physics or Chemistry. Suitable experience/knowledge of the Maritime Industry would be an advantage along with an interest in Maths and Physics.

Equipment
Internet connection and a suitable device with headphones, microphone and camera (minimum spec) is required. Please email us if you have any concerns about connectivity or equipment.

Nat 5 Physics - Thursday evenings
All classes are taught online and the entire course will also be put onto Brightspace so that assessments classroom material can be accessed anytime, anywhere.
How long will my course last?
34 WeeksEvening classes on Monday, Tuesdays and Thursdays from anywhere with an internet connection
How will I be assessed?
National 5 Maths - 2 written exams, non-calculator and calculator papers
National 5 Physics - 1 written exam and a written assessment that takes place over three Saturdays
NPA in Maritime Skills - Completion of 5 Assessment Support Packs

- From anywhere with an internet connection including your local college centre
