This course will provide you with basic knowledge of hairdressing delivered in a realistic work environment. You will gain a useful qualification with the skills required to get a start in the industry.
The classroom is set up to represent a salon with hair wash sinks, stylist stations, storage, laundry and a training reception area.
There are no formal entry requirements but a desire to work in a customer service industry is essential.
Some of our courses require students to have essential equipment/clothing.
If you are 18 and over and are eligible for a bursary, these costs will be met through your bursary. If you are not eligible for a bursary, you will need to fund these items yourself.
If you are under 18, you are entitled to have essential equipment paid for whether you are entitled to EMA or not. However you must apply for EMA even if you know that you’re not entitled to EMA.

This qualification can provide progression on to the Hairdressing SVQ Level 2 and could also be your start to a successful career in the hairdressing industry.
