Death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II
UHI West Highland has been greatly saddened to hear about the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
As a partner of the University of the Highlands and Islands, we have sent our condolences on behalf of all our students, our staff and our Boards to our Chancellor, HRH The Princess Royal, and The Royal Family at this difficult time.
Like many other tributes we have heard, we want to recognise the extraordinary service the Queen gave to our country. She will be missed by many people, not just at home, but across the world. She loved the Highlands, as we do, and was a great ambassador for Scotland and a champion for education. In her commitment to her role and the dedication with which she carried out her leadership duties for over 70 years, she was a shining example of a steadfast, hardworking public servant.
As a mark of respect, we will be closing our campuses on the day of the state funeral and we will be contacting students in due course to let them know about any changes to timetables.
