Upskilling and reskilling opportunities as Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF) doubles

Discuss your training needs for existing employees with West Highland College UHI as applications open for this year's FWDF.

More employers across the West Highlands can now apply for funding to invest in their workforce.

The Flexible Workforce Development Fund (FWDF) is available for all employers who are subject to the UK Government’s Apprenticeship Levy. For the first time, the fund will now be available for both levy payers and SMEs, across the private, public and third sectors.

As part of this, the FWDF was doubled to £20m for 2020/21, with £13 million made available through the first phase to allow colleges to provide additional support for levy-paying employers.

Apprenticeship Levy paying employers in the region can:

  • Have the flexibility to choose the training they need.
  • Use the fund to address priority skills gaps.
  • Access training available through West Highland College UHI.
  • Offer existing employees high quality training to benefit your organisation.
