Raising a cuppa to Café TOAST

Guests invited to afternoon tea at Café Toast

Guests from a wide variety of clubs and groups around Fort William and Lochaber were invited to celebrate the official launch of Café TOAST @ West Highland College UHI this week.

The college has recently completed a refurbishment of the Café area along with an upgrade of the student training kitchen and a Changing Places facility for those with a disability.

To celebrate the new style menu, a complimentary afternoon tea was enjoyed by around 60 guests showcasing the wide variety of home-made, healthy, hearty meals, soups, salads, sandwiches and sweet treats that are available from the Café.  Each guest also received a “goodie bag” containing a sweet treat and loyalty card for future visits.

“We really are delighted to have such an enthusiastic turnout for our opening event.” said Fiona Haberl, Café Manager. “Our aim is to provide high quality, healthy food at a reasonable price, to our staff and students.  However we very much want to welcome the public to sample our great food too and the Café is open for everyone to enjoy all year round. We also have exciting plans for bespoke event catering, packed lunches made to order and frozen ready meals.”

Mairi Mooney is the newly appointed business manager for the Café and will be the main contact for bookings over the summer.  “It’s great to see so many local clubs and community groups creating such a lively atmosphere   in the college today and we hope to see everyone again soon!  We will also be catering for various special events over the summer months, so I would urge everyone to come along, sample some of our lovely food and keep an eye on what is going on in Café TOAST.”
