Studying with us
The way you study will depend on the course you choose and the school you attend. You will find more information on which courses are available in your area on the page Your School.
For most of our courses you will be required to attend college one day a week. This is a great way to meet new friends and enjoy a taste of college life.
There are other courses which are taught by college lecturers in school and there are some where you join your lecturer and students in a ‘virtual’ class using video-conferencing technology.
In the same way as school, our college lecturers complete tracking reports and report any absences. As a college student, you will have plenty of independence and you will be expected to act responsibly and to make the most of your time studying with us.
You select your college course from your column choices at school along with your other subjects like National 5s and Highers. It is important to think about how to plan your studies and you should speak to your guidance teacher who will help you with your choices. Think about:
- which subjects are you best at?
- which subjects do you enjoy most?
- which options will lead to a career that you are really interested in?
Once you have considered all of your options and decided on the right course for you, your guidance teacher will take you through the application process. Click here for more information on how to apply.
