This course is designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge required by employers and service users in the local area.

Health and Social Care NC Level 6

Health and social care is provided in settings such as nursing homes, residential homes, hospitals and resource centres for people with learning disabilities. It covers a range theoretical and practical topics, and you'll investigate what types of care are available and the responsibilities of a care worker.

HNC Social Services is a nationally recognised qualification and a valued award for people who want to work in a variety of social service settings, supporting individuals with varying needs. SWAP Access to Nursing content Male and female student nurses

SWAP Access to Nursing

If you'd like to train in the health industry but lack the necessary qualifications, this could be the course for you. The Scottish Widening Access Programme (SWAP) is specifically for people who have been out of formal education for at least 3 years. It prepares adult returners for entry into Higher Education and can lead to a place at college or university.

Social Services and Health Care SVQ2

Are you working regularly with older or vulnerable adults as part of your full time employment? This flexible work-based course will develop your knowledge, understanding and skills while you continue to earn an income.

Taking this course will allow you to register as a practitioner with the Scottish Social Services Council on completion. You could also continue to gain higher qualifications at work or think about studying at degree level.
