Alex Williams

Programme Leader, BA (Hons) Marine and Coastal Tourism

Over the last 15 years, I have been a teacher of outdoor education, using the outdoors primarily for personal development with young people.    I have also been an instructor of outdoor activities skills courses, having directed courses for both the Scottish and the Welsh/ English National Mountain Centres, in summer and winter conditions.

I have also worked as a trekking expedition leader on a variety of trips, from Everest Base Camp to the Sahara desert and the jungles of South America.  These trips varied from 2 clients on Mera Peak in the Himalaya, on their honeymoon, to 52 clients raising money for charity by completing the Inca Trail.
