Carl Haberl.jpgCarl has been a professional outdoor practitioner for over 25 years. He has worked as a feelance instructor, national centre instructor, international kayak and mountaineering guide, national mountaineering trainer and assessor, cycling coach and college lecturer.

Carl has led expeditions to every continent and has spent time living and working in France, Tanzania, New Zealand and Antarctica.

Carl has trained and assessed all the Mountain Training qualifications including MIC and IML whilst working as a full time instructor at Glenmore Lodge and Plas y Brenin. He also helped develop the sea kayak department at Glenmore Lodge by guiding several Shetland and Greenland Expeditions. He was head of the mountain biking department at Glenmore lodge for five years and introduced the Velotech mechanics qualifications as well as supporting both the SMBLA and British Cycling Awards.

Other Professional responsibilities:

Carl currently works as a course Moderator for Mountain Training England and a Trainer and Assessor for the British Association of International Mountain Leaders through both Plas y Brenin and Glenmore Lodge. Carl and wife, Fi, run Haberl Outdoor Training which specializes in providing British Cycling UK Mountain Biking Leader courses, outdoor first aid courses and technical advice services to outdoor activity providers.
